Speaker Support and Coaching
Great presentations help spread knowledge about Apache projects and the ASF. Our speaker support volunteers provide coaching and feedback to help speakers deliver engaging, effective talks.
What speaker support volunteers do
As a volunteer, you’ll offer several types of speaker support:
CFP and Abstract Support
- Review and provide feedback on conference proposals
- Help refine talk titles and abstracts
- Advise on targeting proposals to specific audiences
- Suggest improvements to increase acceptance chances
Slide Review and Editing
- Review presentation slides for clarity and flow
- Provide feedback on visual design and readability
- Suggest improvements to technical content
- Help ensure slides align with talk objectives and ASF branding
Presentation Rehearsal
- Conduct dress rehearsal sessions via video chat
- Provide constructive feedback on delivery
- Help with timing and pacing
- Offer tips on handling questions
- Build speaker confidence
Who Can Help
We welcome volunteers with:
- Speaking experience at technical conferences
- Presentation design skills
- Technical writing background
- Teaching or training experience
